Clerks II. I was surprised that the film had a sequel. There wasn't really a reason to. Anyway, a sequel was made, with more or less the same cast, same characters, all older, but none the wiser ... A welcoming addition is Rosario Dawson, whom in my opinion is a great actress, and whom I admire a lot for her range of roles tackled over the years. The characters have moved onto their mid thirties, which is, well, just like me!
This reminds me of another movie, which had a sequel ... yeah Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. Likewise, the characters faced problems and situation that ... I face as well. It was a small pity that I watched the film alone, as it was only screening at Vivo, and, well, my peers weren't exactly interested in movies that speak to themselves ...
I remembered wasn't too crazy with the original Clerks. However, I like it enough to buy the comics series. Well, I actually quite like sequel, of which Rosario Dawson was one big reason. Maybe with age, I was less cynical of the director and his style and humour. It was still an insightful venture into suburbia America, with people who have too much time in their hands, and strangely, too much things in their mind. The ending was too positively for my liking too, but hey, its a new year here, so give it a break!
