Updates, updates. Gotta set up a Google account now in order to do the same things we have been doing all these while. Why???
Multiple Personalities Disorder. A little history. Hossan is the first actor I know personally. Yep, the first time I got into Singapore theatre, it was way way way back in 1994, I was helping out at the Front of House for a The Necessary Stage production. Hossan was the FOH manager then. I already had a good impression on this pint size, but loud and dynamic personality. Over the next few years I watched him handle a series of challenging roles in plays by TNS and other groups. This was before he got into tv.
I have never doubted Hossan's talents over the years. It is just that I wish he had more chances to do more serious theatre, unlike comedy which he does a lot, mainly because of his fame on tv, and his size. Hossan has always been a role model to his peers, his dilligence, versatility, and yet so-humble personality, makes him such an endearing personality, and friend.
And so how is the show? Well, the script was a rather hit-and-miss affair. Well, more miss actually. There is a reason why Mr Miyagi should stick to his blogsphere. Hossan was at his best and most comfortable elements when he was doing his own style of stand up, at the beginning of the programme. Once the personalities start to roll, well, that was when you decide whether you want to roll off the floor, or grate your fingernails against the metal behind the seats ... I thought the show sagged in the middle, and picked up from his Prince impersonation onwards.
I wish Hossan all the best in his future projects.
