Midnight Sun. Not sure why the international title is called Midnight Sun, when A Song To The Sun seems much more appropriate. Maybe because the two main tracks in the movie, Happy Line, and Goodbye Days, were not ... songs to the sun ... so change to Midnight Sun lah. Less confusing. Now, why do I love thee so much. Cos YUI is so cut... no lah, to be fair, I think this is a long time, at least for me, when I watch a lead actress (or actor), who is not by profession an actor, but another like, singer, I was'nt aware that, it was a singer acting in a movie. You know, it's like, Madonna or Mariah or Britney, when they act, they are still Madonna, Mariah and Britney. For this one, even though Yui had to sing, you don't really realise that, oh, that is a singer singing in the movie. I found out a lot more about the movie, and Yui, after I watched the movie for the first time, and yes, based on the YouTubes and MTVs, Yui does sing like THAT (so cute ...) in her real life too. Still, I think great credit goes to the screenwriters for sucessfully writing Yui into the role, it really felt like, as a few reviews mentioned, she was born to make this movie. From another angle, if Kaoru did not die, she would had blossomed into a singer like Yui ... Anyway, so sad that the movie had only a two week run. #$%^&* distributors. I look forward to seeing the dvd soon. Oh, I watch the tv drama version, starring Erika Sawajiri, well, that is another blog I guess.
