A Class to Remember II - The Learning Circle. Japan has come up with very good and endearing film franchises over the decades, and had proven to be decent value for education and entertainment. This series centre around the educational institution. You know, most of the Japanese films I had watched that focussed on schools, are romantic comedies, or horror films. Hah hah. Well, this one is much much more serious than all those. This one is set in a special school. The two protagonists had left the school to attend a pop concert. The school staff were most concerned, and two senior teachers set out to find the two boys. The film was interspersed with flash backs on the major characters, how they each got into the school, how the teachers grew to love their work, even though it was tougher than normal teachers would handle, and how the students grew better and better under the intensive love and care of the teachers. The ending was sweet and emotional, and many audience teared. It was a wonderful experience.
Talladega Nights. The only reason why I watched this was, Will Ferrell. There are many mysteries in life, and one of them is that I actually enjoy watching this chap act. I also like Ben Stiller, but that is another film. I kind of like Jack Black, also another film. Anyway, his character, in a Forrest Gump kind of way, was extremely likeable, to me at least, which was the most important saving grace for the film. I enjoyed this mediocre but decent film.
Free and Easy - Special Edition. Like the above mentioned Jap film, this one stems from another series. I am not too certain what this series is about, whether about a group of office workers, or whether about leisure fishing .... anyway, there are many hilarious situations throughout the film to savour, and it made for a light-hearted evening film.
