Saturday night, dinner with Vivianne, Umar, Qaiser, Elsa, Renee, to celebrate Umar and MY birthdays! Well, mine don't matter that much anyway, being a third of a century old. Umar is 19, what a wonderous age. I wonder what I was like when I was 19 ... certainly did not celebrate then. Other than with family, I don't really celebrate mybirthday until I reach university ... but that is another blog I guess. Oh, we went to Siam Express, which look so much like Thai Express, the decor, the atmosphere, the menu ... the food I can't tell much. I didn't eat well cos my tummy was acting up, so I kept away from the spicy stuff. After that went to CAN cafe at Liang Seah Street. Benjamin joined us later. Good to see these people all in all, although will be seeing some of them regularly for ANIC. Oh, the fireworks festival was into its last day, so from nine plus onwards until we left the place, there was a constant stream of people coming from the direction of the fireworks in Marina area. The Ah Chew dessert place was overwhelmed with customers, we gave up thoughts of buying some dessert over to our tables. Anyway, Qaiser, Elsa and I were not done when we split up, so the three of us ended up at RK Prata House in Bishan, the one with the pink chairs. Got home around 2am, tired but reasonably happy with the night's gathering. Next gathering ... maybe December, when Odelia returns ...
Sunday afternoon watched Citizen Dog with Vivianne. This has to be one of my favourite film of the year. I think I smiled throughout the film. It is by the director of Tears of the Black Tiger, and it is a very stylishly and surreally film about two simple people finding love in the city, the boy who has no dream or goal, and the girl who has one and is always searching for it. If you want to have a little taste of the film, please click

I dearly wish that someone can bring this in for a commercial run, then I can go and tell all friends to go and watch it. Sure will bring a smile to everybody's faces. Or at least bring in the DVD lah ...
