Dear friends,
Sorry I have been away for so long. It's been a month, I think. But I'm back! I guess.
So what has happened this month?
MGS - For the first two weeks of the June hols, I thought I was working in the school, putting in more than 10 hours per day. Thankfully the skeleton, and some of the flesh, of the show is out, and it is looking better and better with every run! Hope it will be a fantastic show come end July!
Arts Fest - Only watched Samovar (Chekov through Comics), John Williams, and Play on Earth by Theatreworks. Wanted to catch the last performance of Shorter and Sweeter, but it was sold out ... I guess partly due to MGS, and mainly due to World Cup, this year's Arts Fest did not leave much impression on me.
Films - Since Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles (I got the DVD!), I had watched: X-Men 3 (great, deserving ending), Love Story (erm ...), Over the Hedge (cute), C.R.A.Z.Y (wonderful, worth recommending), CARS (cool), Krrish (better than expected actually). On hindsight not a great month for films actually, considering its the June hols.
Misc. - Youth Gone Wild! My boy,Umar, sang and sweated his heart out at the end of ... many hours of heart-stomping, and hardly any bass, rock music, with some original Singapore independent music thrown in. Typewriter and Ronin lent some respectability and strength to the event. Was glad that Whitley Sec had organised it, sign of more to come, I hope.
WORLD CUP - I missed most of the last one in S Korea and Japan. I am mostly glad that I was able to catch most, and some of the best, action, this time round. In fact, this is the first night, after 2 1/2 weeks of daily action and battle, that there is no match. Which means there are only 8 more precious matches to go ... Now I would like to say that, looking at the remaining 8 teams, I would support Portugal (no, not to spite England), Germany, Italy, and Brazil to be in the semis ...
