How do I beat my post-SIFF blues? By watching a commercial film straightaway! The Wild is the latest Walt Disney animation. The plot sounds very similar to Dreamwork's Madagascar. Nevermind, I wasn't there for the plot, nor the animation, I was there for ... Some of the capable veteran voices behind the film include Kiefer Sutherland, Jim Belushi, Janeane Garofalo, and William Shatner. This is rather impressive. There was a lovely Coldplay or Travis track playing when the animals first enter the big city in the waste truck. Images of Toys R Us (for the giraffe) and the Lion King musical (for the lion, who else), made for a very cute touch. The reference to the Noah's Ark at the end was hilarious too ... I have very few complaints for this film, for I was in a very relaxed and non-judgemental mood. Think mirrormask, or the child, or paradise now, would not be so easy to digest
