Thank goodness Pepot Superstar is a much more enjoyable film than Indio Nacional. A ten year-old boy living in poverty dreams of becoming a big movie star. While dealing with selling comics, watching movies, playing with pigeons and white mice, going to the carnival for his fortune-telling, he will constantly day-dream, and break into song and dance. The boy lead is totally charming and innocent, hence making the film more endearing than many films with young leads. The supporting cast are dramatic and hilarious in their own right. This film reminds me that we, as adults, ought to listen to the young sometimes, and allow them time and space to dream their future. Just because sometimes we have failed our dreams, doesn't mean that we should deprive our younger generation their chance to the limelight.
