Sneaking into the new Cathay is this little gem of a French film. Starring Guilleaume Canet (Love Me If You Dare, love that movie), the film is about a Narcolepsy patient, Gustav, who tries to get about with life, even if he always fall asleep at any time at will. There is a rather funny sequence early in the film, where he would wake up from the dance floor, and continue walking through the crowd, trying to look for his partner, who had looked for someone else to dance with ... and this would continue for a few times, until he decided to give up the clubbing lifestyle. It is not easy for him to cope with life, and for his family, and loser friends. But life does take unexpected turns ... The rest of the eccentric characters, with their strange habits and views of life, and wardrobe and kitschy sets, help make this film watchable. However, if you are already tearing your hair out at what film fest films to catch, then this film is alright to miss ...
