So today we had the first of a three-days workshop with the girls. Drama workshops are fun, you see the best and worst poses of people. People who go through these workshops have no idea generally why they have to play games and do scenarios and improvisations, but we needed them to gauge and eventually cast actors. It is interesting what people come up with when they have to improvise. I guess you come up with things that are most familiar to you, so stuff relating to school, family, relationship, things on TV, etc, occupy most of their ideas.
It is going to take a while to convince these girls that the show will be fun, and thus worth their effort to spend the next five months with us, through thick and thin. I guess the lack of experience on their side prevents them to imagine how the show will turn out, which is no fault of theirs. I had the privilege, a few years ago, of watching a show, that hopefully this show can closely emulate, which is also in a similar vein. Hence I can foresee, if the show runs well, how powerful the production will be, I only hope I won't face too many problems when it comes to scheduling rehearsals.
So tomorrow is O Levels' results release day. it doesn't concern me much. I shall call to find out how Levin, Odelia and Benjamin did. I don't remember when I returned to my alma mater to receive my results. I guess the important thing then was that I was able to study in my chosen JC, which was a great deal when you are 16 turning 17 ... so tomorrow I expect to see many people screaming and shouting and crying and maybe fainting. Yeah, the wait is finally over. Their fate for their next stage of their academic life is laid out in front of them. And the wheels of life keeps turning ...
