It irks me a little sometimes when there is a good movie or play or dance, and the attendance was pathetic, and you hoped there had been a larger audience to appreciate what you had just watched. You wish that perhaps there had been a little more publicity to attract audience, and not wasted on other crappy shows.
Someone Like Hodder, a Danish film not coming to an Islamic country near you, is mostly about the adventures of a charming little schoolboy called Hodder. It is about his good and bad times in school, in the neighbourhood, and at home, and about how he is coping with those times. The entire cast, whether Hodder's classmates, or the adults around him, are extremely likable. Each of the characters is believable and very well-written. On hindsight, this is a film for teenagers, but adults can also catch it with their children or friends or whoever.
Yes, it leaves me with a little regret that they aren't more people watching little gems like this instead of, instead of ... The Fog, or 49 Days, or Rumour Has It ...
