A Season for Love. After so many decent Korean films, I think standards are beginning to slip. 4 short stories, all with sad endings. Unfortunately it does not translate to four times the sadness; more like 4 X 1/4 of the sadness. None of the 4 stories strike me.
One. Boyfriend is a fireman. With a job like that. What can we expect of his ending?
Two. Son wishes mother will remain sick so that she will spend more time with him. What do you think happens to her?
Three. Girl with burn on face hides and hides from boy she likes. And when she takes off her mask, she still hides the burn marks. What will the boy think?
Four. To get the woman he wants, man has to separate other couples. What will the woman do when she does not love him anymore?
Granted there are some nice touches throughout the film, but this film does not earn my tears. (I think I am saving them for Brokeback ...) Disappointing.
