Pink Panther is a fairly enjoyable movie. Steve Martin - average, maybe try too hard; Kevin Kline - average, underused lah; Jean Reno - good, but also underused; Beyonce Knowles - acting as a singer, what do you expect? Inspector Clouseau quick about-turn from quite an idiot to smart sleuth was quite hard to stomach in the end when he solved all the mysteries efficiently. And what happened to the scene when he cut the glass window and the whole window shattered? Why was that cut? Felt a little short-changed there ... Clive Wilson in a very good cameo there though ... Think cyclists won't like this movie though, and neither will curtain makers ...
A Day in ... nice to look at the small details of life -
http://www.theircircularlife.it/I was glad to have caught Zoolander. I don't think the run will be long, so do go catch it before ... Wednesday. The film pokes fun at the model industry. Ben Stiller had collected a fine cast of friends to act for him, and many as themselves, so it was not too hard to stomach. Some of the cameo were really great, especially David Duchovny, and Vince Vaughn. Several familiar combinations, as this film was made before Starsky and Hutch, Dodge ball, so it was fun to see familiar faces. Most will dismiss this as a stupid movie, while I think it is rather intelligent. The controversy about disrespect to our neighbours, I thought, was tame and unfounded, as they make it look like they were referring to any of the countries in East Asia ... pity it has such a short run, and five years too late, but it doesn't feel outdated lah ... watch it!
