Hawaii, Oslo. Five, or more, parallel stories about love take place in about 24 hours in the streets of Oslo. About a baby who will not live long; about 2 boys coming to terms with their father's death; about a kleptomaniac looking for a girl whom he has a ten year deal with her; about his brother who plans to run away; about an ambulance driver trying to reach out to a patient; about a newspaper girl who sings like an angel; and an angel who might be able to save everybody, but can't fall asleep ... I like the movie because I think the links that individual stories / characters have of each other, do not feel forced or contrived, and they really do affect each others' destinies, even before coming together for the fatal finale. The script writer deserves great credit for woving the intricate layers of stories together delicately. All the characters are simple folks trying to get by, and understand their problems, their fate, thus the film feels realistic, and very touching.
