First, I want to share this, the Best Mother-in-Law Story Ever:
A man, his wife, and mother-in-law went on vacation to the Holy Land. While they were there the mother-in-law passed away. The undertaker told them, "You can have her shipped home for $5,000, or you can bury her here in the Holy Land for $150.00." The man thought about it and told him he would just have her shipped home. The undertaker asked, "Why?" Why would you spend $5,000 to ship your mother-in-law home, when it would be wonderful to spend only $150.00?" The man said, "A man died here 2000 years ago, he was buried here and three days later he rose from the dead. I just can't take that chance."
Now, let's talk movie.
Broken Flowers. First we saw the pink envelope, and it really reminds me of the many Chinese New Year's cards that I had sent out over the week ... Now, A man who has a lot of things (career, money, time, watching tv most of his time) was persuaded by his active neighbour, who also has a lot of things (wonderful wife, noisy kids, several jobs, active lifestyle), to embark on a road trip to solve a mystery. What I enjoyed about the movie was the feel of all the locations, including Don's house, Winston's house, and Don's 4 exs' houses or offices. They all tell about every different person's economic and social status, and state of mind too. The rift between the characters, the awkward silences, the looks, the indifferent feelings, were very precious moments in the film. The pacing is very, very slow, and all the encounters with the exs, are rather short. The movie is a very acquired taste, so eat your popcorn slowly ...
This is brilliant:
http://www.sorrygottago.com/A brand new school show with Wen Fu and Jonathan! Was at MGS for the past two afternoons to have auditions for actors and singers for their school production in end July. What can I say? The girls can speak really well, a lot of them are very well-articulated. I think Jonathan and Wen Fu are very happy and hopeful of the talents that the school has. The next half a year will be most hectic and exciting.
Absolutely brilliant! Or annoying ...:
