Tuesday night went to attend the exhibition opening of At the Tip of the Letter K, by my friend Akiko. The location is the Substation gallery, which runs until this Tuesday (so do drop by to pay a visit if you are in the vicinity). The photos are taken when she was in Hong Kong, Japan, France, Italy and Spain, I think. Aikiko likes to take really random shots, and by carefully arranging the photos on the walls, make for quite interesting contrasts and associations. My favourite is a shot of a staircase / corridor wall in a run-down apartment in Hong Kong, where there are posters and scribblings of events all over.
I finally caught Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I have been putting the film off for two weeks, not wanting to watch it when my mind was still filled with "Hermione? Ron? Where are you? Come out! Stop fooling around ... Mr Frodo! Mr Frodo! Save me! I'm on Fire! Save me, Mr Frodo ..." I thought the film was the most disappointing of the lot so far. Granted that, unfortunately, the book was really really thick, so it was very very difficult to resist shooting a six hour film. Hence, most of the scenes were too short, which disappoints those who had read the book, and confuses those who had not read, as there were too many loopholes left unanswered. I found the three challenges too short, and the new characters had hardly any screentime to do some real acting ... still looking forward to the next movie though.
