My dear computer went on a holiday for a week ... Funny how life is empty without the box. It's not quite the same to replace time spent in front of the monitor by ... watching TV, reading newspapers, daydreaming, etc. Can't help but look at that empty space on the table constantly ...
In the meantime. A Nation in Concert. In true Jonathan and Beng fashion, I was lassoed in to help at the final week. So, last Thursday, was at Siglap to put the final touches to the flowers; Friday, brought everything over to the Esplanade, was there at 7am! Got everything in and up by 10am. Then, stoned somewhat till my beloved Whitley bees came in at 1pm ... my next two days were spent taking after their wallets, watches and handphones, like any good nanny ... Since I was free from the show, I had the chance to practise my humble photography skills on my humble camera. Here are some decent shots ...

I wonder how much the event earned for charity eventually. The costs of renting the venue can be astounding ...

Last night we watched Dim Sum Dollies. Must say that Hossan was the only saving grace. He was the really funny and crazy one, his lines were articulated, his singing was clear. The other three, and the little three, were not fun to watch at times. You don't remember the songs after the show ... think they were better off doing the show once every two years. Of course, all this bitching only means one thing: Chestnuts had better be so much better this year ... heh heh heh

Thanks to the Nation experience, I had my first tastes of the makansutra eatery at the Esplanade. I am impressed with the food generally, especially the specially leaf-wrapped hokkien noodles ... had 10 prawns at one go last night, still wondering how it happened.

Just learnt that two of my kids are quarrelling. Gee, I haven't quarrelled like that for a long time. Sigh ... Hope all will be harmonised by Saturday.

About Elsie's blog about C&CF, I was thinking a lot about the elimination of the other 4 kids. Let's think too much into the book / film for a moment ... the kids were removed according to who was most undesirable to the least desirable, that was my initial thought. Then again, the 4 kids' traits were also present in WW's character and upbringing, in some ways, like the seven sins ... so, by removing them one by one, the way I saw it, he was distancing himself from those undesirable traits. Until who was left, but the pure and innocent ... pail. Nice huh? I might watch it again for the 3rd time soon ...
