The Show Must Go On 2
At 6.45pm, I was debating to myself whether to make the pilgrimage up the hill. I didn't make arragements with anyone, although I was sure I would bump into a friend or two ... make that ten friends or twenty ... You know how it is, it is so easy to make excuses NOT to go watch that show ... tired lah, far lah, spend money lah ... In the end, I told myself, I will not regret making the trip ... and I didn't.
20 Stuntmen
So, what was it that we just watched? A friend asked me not long ago what modern dance is ... and I said, everything that classical dance and ballet ... aren't. Which is not too far from the truth. Well, I know that what we just watched, had no dance movements to speak whatsoever, (well, not counting the tap dancing and showtime routine right at the beginning ...); there is plenty of text, but you would hardly call it a dramatic performance; it's not called mime either, especially with all that ohing and ohing ...; so I guess, whatever that cannot be catagorised, let' s callet it, modern dance ...
Sun Hot Hot
Speaking of ohing and ohing, yes, there was a little bit of, shall I say, content not suitable for the one sole baby in the house ... if it was meant to be funny, do we still call it objectionable content, to be frowned upon and XXX? Anyway, it's too artily presented to be offensive to anybody ... if they turn up in the first place ...
Some Thoughts Now
All in all, am glad that tonight's show was well attended. That was the most important thing. Hope the rest of the week will be swelling with (hmmm ...) audience too.
